Find the right group
Our swimmers are divided into groups by age, ability and goals, from first lengths to competitive training, across pools right across the city.
Learn to swim
£34.50/ monthWe run separate Learn to Swim groups for newer swimmers, building water confidence and core skills. See the Learn to swim page for full details of these sessions.
Adult Learn to Swim is also £34.50 a month.
Improvers
£37.50/ monthFor those now swimming lengths and ready to progress out of learn to swim, but not yet ready for our Academy group. A small group of no more than 10 swimmers at any one time, with helpers available if required. Several sessions are available and the price is the same whether you attend once, twice or more.
Adult Improvers is also £37.50 a month.
Academy
£37.50/ monthFor swimmers who have progressed from Improvers or learn to swim and are confident in length swimming and deep water, and can swim 3 of 4 strokes. It introduces the rules for competitive swimming and builds technique and stamina, still with an element of ‘play’ but in a more structured environment than learn to swim. There are no helpers in the water for this group. Several sessions are available and the price is the same whether you attend once, twice or more.
Development
£37.50/ monthFor swimmers ready to compete who can swim all four strokes and are confident in deep water. It builds speed and stamina across both long and short distance swimming, and supports swimmers with a disability to become classified where there is a pathway to follow. Several sessions are available and the price is the same whether you attend once, twice or more.
Training group
£47.50/ monthFor very confident and competent swimmers regardless of impairment: competitive para and disability swimmers, and competent family mainstream swimmers. Set session plans are completed at each training session, swimming distances between 2,000m and 4,000m per session.
Masters
£47.50/ monthFor swimmers aged over 18 who wish to develop their swimming and benefit from a coached session. We offer one or two competition opportunities through the year, and swimmers progress into this group from our adult learn to swim.
Fellowship
£40/ yearFor swimmers who are at university, train only a few weeks per year, or who want competition support without using our pool time for training.
Land training and gym sessions
We offer land training and use of the gym on Sunday afternoons, with a structured programme of activities to build core strength and coordination. Equipment is supplied.
Family swimming
Although we are predominantly para and disability swimming, we offer a family mainstream option so siblings and parents can swim within the same club. Mainstream swimmers are included within the groups above and placed by swimming ability, so siblings may not be in the same group.
We do not offer mainstream competitive swimming. A mainstream swimmer who progresses and wishes to compete will be signposted to their nearest competitive club to dual register. We only offer para and disability competitive swimming.
A capped family fee
If two or more swimmers from the same household are members, your monthly fees are capped. Your family never pays more than the Top Family Fee in total, however many of you swim and whichever groups you’re in.
Where we swim
We train across four venues around Birmingham. Tap a pool for directions.
