Our Learn to Swim programme is hugely popular, welcoming members of any age.

An inclusive place to start

Our programme gives both adults and children the opportunity to learn to swim in an environment specifically set up for inclusive swimming.

Sessions are structured around the individual, with a qualified teacher on poolside and helpers in the water. We supply all the required equipment.

We ask that swimmers can enter and exit the pool unaided, or are small and light enough to be lifted in and out. Please note there is no hoist available at most of the pools we use. Parents are not permitted in the water supporting their child during these sessions.

A young child starting any learn to swim programme for the first time can take several weeks to settle, or even to get into the water, so we actively encourage plenty of play to help with this.

Two ways to learn

Learn to swim

Three learn to swim sessions are available; swimmers can take up one place a week. Sessions are led by qualified teachers with helpers, usually in the water with the swimmer while the teacher is on poolside. We supply all the equipment. Swimmers need to enter and exit the pool unaided, or be able to use a hoist. Parents are not permitted in the water during this session.

Adult learn to swim

A session for adults to learn to swim, currently offered once a week, with a helper in the water if required. A welcoming, patient environment to build confidence at your own pace.

All places must be pre-booked
Sessions are in high demand and run to capacity, so please book your trial session before you come to ensure we're prepared.
