Hi
Very busy day today with three swim sessions, trip to the arcade and the rock shop. So, this report will be short and sweet, as I am very tired and ready for my bed. What a beautiful day – sunshine, blue sky and very warm for February. Most of us walked around carrying our coats.
We had a bubble party in the garden, with the large wands, in the sunshine. Swimmers were divided into small groups to visit the rock shop, so whilst some were out, other had bubble play. Great socialising and communication skills shown by all who took part.
We had awards given out today, with a lot of swimmers receiving medals. The tidiest room award was also given out – well done Joseph and Noah. Don’t ask about the untidiest room award but for the first time in a very long time, it wasn’t Markus.
We had fun with Amarah’s hat today in the pool but solved with new the cloth that worked really well with her very long hair.
The rock shop visit proved to be Hannah’s worse nightmare, with swimmers trying to make a decision as to what to purchase. I think she is still traumatised by the experience, even now. I on the other hand, had been there, done it and got the T Shirt for several previous year, so knew exactly what it was going to be like and what to expect and was well prepared. The shop keeper was a little traumatised too.
We had one person throwing a major temper tantrum when we had to leave the arcade to return for our evening meal. What a spectacle. We had one swimmer return with pocket full of tickets that he did not have time to ‘cash in.’ Both Heather and Donna took on the role of security guards, whilst I rounded up the swimmers from the arcade.
We played the ‘have you cleaned your teeth?’ game tonight, which basically means informing all swimmers to go to bed.
We have had piano playing, playing chess or cards, making decorations for the party room, colouring and other activities throughout the day, so very busy for all
Party night tomorrow, after another 2 swim sessions in the pool.

Hi All
Quick report whilst everyone is taking part in the quiz night. Thanks Josh for organising, its going down really well, even if a little competitive. The lucky dip box is out and lots of people have had a go, and there are lot of laughs with people wearing pirates’ hats and eye patches, some finding they have got colouring books or stickers. Great swims today, with two swimmers achieving medal status – Fernella and Clara. Jamie and Harry were also recognised.
Some very tired people today, with two people falling asleep during their evening meal. A lot of pizza was consumed along with chips, followed by sponge pudding with ice cream or custard. However, everyone soon woke up when the crisps arrived and the quiz started with lots of answers being shouted out.
We had lovely time at the local park after breakfast this morning, even though it started to rain. We had swimmers playing on equipment, role playing and generally having lots of fun.
We walked back to the hotel for lunch and then walked along with promenade watching the waves crashing onto the beach ( it was quite windy so the waves were quite large)
We completed 2 full on swimming sessions today with everyone in the pool for either half or all the sessions. We had 2 lots of land training sessions running as well, using several pieces of equipment.
Everyone has eaten well today, with nearly every plate cleared at every meal. Lots of calories burnt through intense swimming sessions though, that had some people working on some individuals targets and techniques. I have managed about 3 cups of tea all day, so now sitting with a large pot, whilst typing this.
We did get wet today, so we have a few coats drying out around the hotel by the radiators, and a few wet shoes, again drying out.
Not everyone is swimming first thing tomorrow, but everyone is swimming at least twice tomorrow and a planned trip to the pier in the afternoon.
No behaviour issue at all so far, no other issues either, unless you count ‘sock gate’ (Coaches report at end of camp will explain more) swimmers going the wrong way round in the lane, and missing Hi Vis Vest that was found on some else’s back and the 2am swimmers who were still talking in their room. I won’t mention Emily’s shoe laces, that we seem to have spent most of the day asking her to tie up.
Most mentioned name today is Yusef, followed by Kabir, followed by Sebastian. My name has been called out more times than anyone else’s, usually to ask a mundane question ‘Can I …..?’
Lovely camp so far, with some great socialising going on, friendships being formed and team working skills being demonstrated. Thank you to swimmers Jamie, Hannah, Lukas and Joshua, who have all helped me out today.

Hi All
We arrived safe and sound and made the most of the lovely sunshine today. No problems on the journey down with great behaviours shown by all.
Upon arrival, we spent around an hour settling into our rooms, having refreshments, and meeting the hotel staff, many of which we knew from previous years. We then spent an hour exploring the beach, finding shells and one person discovered crabs with an eel close by. The sea was very far out, so we explored rocks pools and made sandcastles.
We returned for our evening meal, and everyone ate something. Not everyone ate all, probably because of the amount they had eaten from their lunch boxes. Half the group had a swim session tonight, and the other half land training session. What fun we had. We had swimmers with no costumes, swimmers with no towels, swimmers with no drinks bottles, swimmers with no poolside shoes, but it was all sorted out and everyone was in the pool, by 7.30pm. I won’t mention the swimmer who tried to convince me that he was dressed when I was holding all his clothes before we went home.
The swimmers today completed 5200m set, with some sprints included, so very hard work today. Everyone worked exceptionally hard tonight. The walk back was lovely as still very mild and the lights along with promenade were well worth the journey.
The sea had come in, so we watched the waves reflecting in the moonlight and the windmills lights flashing, whilst walking back to the hotel.
The hotel was waiting for us upon our return with our supper. We had a lovely supper with Hot chocolate, biscuits, sandwiches, and other nibbles, that were basically demolished within less than half an hour.
Everyone listened to Karen’s talk and had a good laugh at some the antics that were shared with everyone.
The swimmers all retired to bed and Karen went to check on everyone half an hour later. Some were asleep but not everyone, so having reminded them of the early start tomorrow most then decided that sleep was the better option.
The staff had a lovely quiet drink the bar at the end of the long day waiting for the first ‘downstairs’ person to arrive. By 11.30pm, only Alex was downstairs, with everyone very quiet in the rooms.
We have a very busy day tomorrow so everyone will be woken up at 5.30pm and having breakfast by 6am.
